NEWS CENTER Maine, TEGNA's NBC stations based in Portland and Bangor, Maine, has a part-time opening for news anchor based in the Portland newsroom.

JOB SUMMARY: We want a professional and personable new presenter. The right journalist is a smart, relentless news hound with a heart. Someone who sets aside bias and follows the facts. You must be able to work seamlessly with newscast producers and field reporters for a statewide audience. An understanding and mastery of the intrinsic connection between broadcast, stream and Social Media platforms while fluidly moving between them before and sometimes during a newscast.

Daily Expecations

Straight forward, no nonsense, but engaging newscast delivery. Bringing to every script each day a deep knowledge of Maine, its history, culture, people, and politics.

Requirements

• 3-5 years reporting and anchoring
• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or similar field
• Quality news writing and copy editing
• Experience with web content management systems
• Active on Twitter, FB, and Instagram
