Business Execution Consultant III – Trade Finance Investigation

12-Month Contract (W2), Weekly Pay (40 hours/week)

Calculated Hire is in search of a Business Execution Consultant III – Trade Finance Investigation to support a Fortune 100 Financial Services organization. This hybrid role is based in Charlotte, NC, and offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced investigations professional with a strong background in Trade Finance, Commercial Banking, and Financial Crimes.

In this role, you will:

• Review complex Trade Finance transactions to identify material heightened risk activity, utilizing established red flags and industry-specific risk indicators.
• Assess risks based on transaction elements such as industry, geographic location, size, and nature of underlying goods; recommend appropriate risk mitigation actions when warranted.
• Complete product transaction due diligence forms, including establishing and documenting customer activity baselines.
• Perform detailed analysis using advanced Excel skills , working with thousands of rows of data to uncover patterns and potential areas of concern.
• Draft clear, concise, and well-supported risk assessments and disposition summaries that inform business partners of findings and risks.
• Collaborate with technology teams, mid-level managers, and cross-functional business partners to drive continuous improvement in review strategies, tools, and techniques.
• Serve as an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Counter-Threat Finance (CTF) subject matter expert , particularly in trade finance contexts, and provide mentorship to junior team members.
• Remain adaptable in a dynamic environment- embracing change, process updates, and evolving procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in risk management, business controls, compliance, or business operations —preferably within a financial services environment.
• Strong background in Commercial Banking and Credit Analysis .
• In-depth understanding of Trade Finance products and related investigation practices.
• Demonstrated experience in financial crimes risk assessment (excluding fraud-focused investigations).
• Ability to evaluate complex risk scenarios and communicate them clearly, decisively, and in a business-appropriate tone .
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel , including manipulating and analyzing large, complex datasets (e.g., using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros, etc.).
• Exceptional written communication skills —able to author thorough and actionable risk reports.
• Comfortable navigating and adapting to frequent change and procedural updates .
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build lasting partnerships across lines of business.
• Industry certifications such as CAMS and/or successful completion of the company’s AML/Sanctions Credential Program are strongly preferred.
