Job Description:
Responsibilities
* Machine complex tooling and fixtures working with Manufacturing Engineering and Design
* Engineering
* Perform secondary operations on production units by using manual multi axis millers and lathes,
* manual drill presses, shears, saws, etc.
* Set-up and run manual machine shop equipment including multi axis millers and lathes, manual
* drill presses, shears, saws, etc.
* Set-up and operate surface grinding machines.
* Work from drawings, prints, and / or work instructions.
* Develop, fabricate, and sharpen various cutting tools and specialty tools.
* Inspect GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) features using basic and advanced
* inspection techniques.
* Cut open welded units to complete production operations.
* Assist shop management in training shop employees in common machine shop practices and
* company specific processes and procedures.
* All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High mechanical aptitude
* Knows how to read blueprints
* Proficiency in trigonometry
* Working knowledge of computers.
* Understand the mechanics of chip formation and metal cutting.
* Knowledge of ANSI/EIA RS - 274 ('G' code NC programs)
* High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution
* 3+ years" experience in trade as a tool maker.
* Experience or formal education in design/drafting with emphasis on CAD
* Resides within a reasonable commuting distance.
Preferred:
* AS in technical field.
