Location: Brighton, MA

Salary: Starting at $80,000/year

Sign-On Bonus: $2,500

Position Overview

The Resident Social Worker plays a vital role in enhancing residents' quality of life through direct support, resource coordination, and advocacy. This position combines clinical expertise with community engagement to help residents maintain independence, build self-confidence, and achieve long-term housing stability.

Essential Responsibilities

Resident Support & Case Management

  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify and address resident support requirements
  • Provide expert guidance on benefits programs including SNAP, Medicaid, and Medicare
  • Facilitate direct referrals to service agencies and coordinate benefit applications
  • Serve as a primary liaison between residents, property management, and external service providers
  • Foster positive communication channels between residents and management staff

Program Development & Community Building

  • Design and implement social programs that promote independence and wellness
  • Lead educational initiatives that support resident self-sufficiency
  • Develop and maintain community-building activities that enhance resident engagement
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts between residents using professional intervention techniques
  • Create and maintain a supportive environment for elderly residents

Crisis Intervention & Support

  • Respond promptly to urgent resident needs and referrals from staff
  • Provide professional crisis intervention services when necessary
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain housing stability
  • Coordinate emergency support services as needed

Administrative & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and confidential resident records
  • Ensure all activities comply with Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA, and relevant regulations
  • Document case management activities and maintain required reporting
  • Participate in professional development and training as required

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Clinical Case Work
  • Current LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) certification
  • Demonstrated experience working with elderly populations
  • Proven expertise in benefits programs (SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare)
  • Strong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in standard office software and case management systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Russian and English
  • Previous experience in residential or community-based social work
  • Knowledge of local community resources and service providers
  • Experience with group programming and community engagement
