Job Description

Our client in Suwanee, GA is seeking a Labor Quoting Specialist to support the labor costing process for complex manufacturing projects. This role focuses exclusively on quoting the labor required to produce customer-specified products— not materials .

You’ll analyze customer documentation, break down the required manufacturing steps, and calculate labor hours using standard rates and industry practices. A background in technical manufacturing quoting, particularly in electronics or electromechanical assemblies, is essential. Experience with quoting software (e.g., CalcuQuote ) is a big plus—but we can train the right person.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and respond to customer RFQ (Request for Quote) packages, focusing solely on labor content.
• Interpret customer-provided documentation: assembly drawings, BOMs, Gerber files, schematics, and build instructions .
• Define the step-by-step manufacturing process needed to assemble products and calculate associated labor time and costs.
• Use quoting tools to input, manage, and analyze labor data.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Engineering, Production, Sales) to validate labor estimates and ensure quoting accuracy.
• Assist in creating PCB array layouts and identifying required tooling (e.g., stencils, pallets) from a labor perspective.
• Help maintain labor-related data within the company’s MRP system .

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree (technical discipline preferred) + 2 years of related experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Hands-on experience in labor quoting for manufacturing , preferably electronics or similar technical fields.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes , assembly methods, and labor standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and process documentation .
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with any quoting software required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments to meet customer deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSEE, BSME, BSET, etc.).
• Experience with CalcuQuote or similar quoting platforms.
• Familiarity with Silicon Expert , component manufacturers, and part numbering systems.
