KLKN-TV, the ABC affiliate in Lincoln, Nebraska, is looking for our next energetic and dedicated News Anchor to help lead our news team! We are looking for someone who will make strong connections with our community and who is passionate about local journalism.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Anchor newscasts
-Research, gather, write, and develop news content for multiple platforms
-Be a newsroom leader, who coaches and mentors the team
-Work with Reporter/MMJ staff to develop stories
-Provide editorial assistance and/or oversight on assigned newscasts
-Lead the team in winning breaking news and weather
-Attend community events on behalf of the station
-Create contacts and a network in the community
-Do live shots in newscasts as-needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Strong fact-checking skills and copy-editing ability
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-At least five years of experience anchoring television news
-Exceptional news judgment, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented approach to winning
-Degree in journalism, communications or related field preferred
