POSITION: Library Assistant (Part Time) - Childrens Room SPECIFIC DUTIES (Illustrative): Plan and implement childrens and teen programs, and assist with programs as needed. Provide directional information to patrons on the phone, via e-mail and in person. Assist patrons with computer use. Answer reference questions and locate materials for patrons. Design, set up and maintain displays; Update online calendars with new programs. Help with circulation tasks and maintenance of library materials. Represent the library at community events as needed, assist with promotion. Ability to post on various social media platforms. Other duties as assigned. WORK SCHEDULE: 20 hours per week; Combination of daytime, evening and Saturday hours QUALIFICATIONS Associates Degree or completion of a minimum of two years of college study (required). Working knowledge of various software applications, the Internet, and online resources. Must enjoy working with children as well as teens and be able to interact successfully with a diverse clientele. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues to create a cohesive team. Commitment to customer-centered, quality public library service. Excellent communication skills.
