Job Description

Job Title: CAD Designer/Drafter

Location: This position can be based at any of the following U.S. locations:

  • Bellingham, WA
  • Billings, MT
  • Bismarck, ND
  • Minneapolis, MN
  • Spokane, WA
  • Vancouver, WA
  • Relocation assistance is available.

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 per year (Hourly wage with overtime eligibility)

Job Summary:

An experienced CAD Designer/Drafter is needed to support projects across various industrial and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial/industrial drafting, a stable work history, and proficiency in Autodesk-based CAD systems. This role will provide technical support for all project phases, with a primary focus on detailed engineering and design.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead designers and engineers with drafting and design tasks using AutoCAD, Navisworks, Vault, and other Autodesk software.
  • Develop detailed design drawings and models based on project specifications and field measurements.
  • Conduct field verifications in existing facilities using traditional measuring techniques and/or 3D laser scanning technology.
  • Utilize 3D modeling software and laser scans to generate design solutions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accuracy and adherence to company and client standards.
  • Provide support in creating technical documentation, drawings, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Design Drafting preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of highly relevant experience in commercial/industrial drafting.

Technical Skills:

  • High proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Vault (Autodesk software suite).
  • Experience with 3D design and modeling is strongly preferred.
  • Revit experience is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel .

Certifications: Eligibility to obtain or currently hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification

Credential (TWIC) is required.

Other Requirements:

  • Stable work history; candidates with frequent job changes will not be considered.
  • Ability to travel to client sites, as required.
  • Must meet drug and background check requirements.
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available).
