Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Drywall Estimator to join one of our key clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating commercial drywall and framing systems , and be proficient with digital takeoff software such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST) or similar platforms.
This role requires a sharp eye for detail, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously. Compensation is performance-based and highly competitive - up to $150,000/year , depending on experience and projects secured.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate quantity takeoffs and estimates for drywall, framing, and acoustical systems
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to develop complete bid packages
- Collaborate with general contractors, architects, and vendors to clarify scope and gather pricing
- Use OST (On-Screen Takeoff) or comparable software to generate precise material and labor estimates
- Prepare and submit competitive bids on commercial projects in a timely manner
- Track bids, maintain a pricing database, and follow up on awarded or lost projects
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and job walks as needed
- Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors post-award to ensure scope alignment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial drywall estimating
- Proficient in digital takeoff software ( OST preferred , but similar platforms acceptable)
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, particularly metal stud framing, drywall, insulation, and ceilings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications with accuracy
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
