Real estate investment company has an immediate opening for a Claims Examiner to join our team in San Mateo, California! In this Claims Examiner role, you will play a crucial part in managing property claims, ensuring timely and accurate administration of each case. This position involves close collaboration with landlords and operations teams to address property loss claims effectively. This position is required to work on-site in San Mateo Monday - Wednesday and can work remotely on Thursday and Friday. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-3+ years of property claims administration experience.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and triage incoming property claims to determine appropriate action steps.
• Manage claims through their lifecycle using ServiceNow, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Communicate with landlords and operations teams to gather necessary documentation and provide updates.
• Prepare and distribute monthly loss reports using Excel, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
• Analyze claims for potential subrogation and recovery opportunities to maximize outcomes.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation for all claims handled.
• Collaborate with team members to address high-volume claims efficiently during peak seasons.
• Stay informed about property insurance policies and claim procedures to ensure compliance.
• Provide administrative support to the senior claims manager and other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1-3+ years of experience in claims administration.
• Must have prior experience with property claims administration.
• Proficiency in managing claims independently, with a strong understanding of claims processes.
• Intermediate skills in Excel, including the ability to create and manage detailed reports.
• Knowledge of subrogation and recovery processes is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to liaise effectively with landlords and operations teams.
• Ability to work both onsite in San Mateo, CA (3 days per week) and remotely (2 days per week).
