Barista – Rust & Roast Coffee

Located inside Strap Tank Express – St. George, UT

About the Role

Rust & Roast Coffee is looking for an energetic, fast-moving barista who enjoys staying busy and takes pride in getting customers in and out efficiently. This is a customer-facing role where  speed, accuracy, and friendliness matter equally . We’re actively improving service times and are looking for someone who can learn quickly, follow systems, and keep lines moving while still delivering a great product and experience.

This role is a great fit for someone early in their hospitality career who wants clear expectations, strong training, and the opportunity to make a real impact on daily sales and guest satisfaction. Pay is based on experience.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee and espresso drinks  quickly and consistently using established recipes and procedures
• Maintain awareness of wait times and adjust pace to keep service flowing during peak hours
• Greet guests promptly, take accurate orders, and move transactions along efficiently
• Recommend menu items and  upsell when appropriate without slowing service
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
• Restock supplies and maintain inventory awareness throughout the shift
• Keep the coffee station clean, organized, and ready for the next rush
• Communicate clearly with teammates to avoid bottlenecks and delays

What We’re Looking For

• Prior barista experience  preferred , but we’re open to fast learners with strong work ethic
• Comfortable working in a  high-volume, time-sensitive environment
• Able to multitask, stay focused, and keep moving during busy periods
• Friendly, confident communicator who enjoys interacting with customers
• Sales-minded: understands that recommendations and add-ons drive revenue
• Team player who shows up on time, prepared, and ready to work

Barista Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to learn and follow drink builds, workflows, and speed standards
• Comfortable operating espresso machines, grinders, and POS systems (training provided if needed)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work at a fast pace
• Reliable transportation and consistent availability

What Success Looks Like in the First 30 Days

• You can prepare core menu drinks  quickly and accurately without supervision
• You consistently keep customer wait times low, even during rushes
• You confidently recommend drinks or add-ons when appropriate
• You understand the flow of the coffee station and anticipate what needs restocking
• You contribute to a smoother, faster customer experience that supports higher sales
