A Software Development Engineer with AWS Ground Station supports the development and delivery of key features as we innovate for our customers. On our team you will use your expertise to:
- Work on a disruptive services that are still in early stages
- Solve challenging problems that will revolutionize satellite connectivity in the cloud
- Work for a recognized leader in supporting space customers with cloud computing
- Have direct impact on hundreds, possibly thousands, of users of AWS Aerospace solutions.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen.
Key job responsibilities
Software development engineer positions require a depth and breadth of knowledge in design and development, experience with agile methodologies, proficiency in a high-level language, experience with low level development, and experience building highly scalable systems involving distributed services. You will own the design of major deliverable and have opportunities to build them from scratch. This is a high visibility and fast-paced environment where you will make a direct impact on the customer experience and the bottom line of the company. As an ideal candidate, you:

- Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (development peers, product and project management, and service leadership).

Each day you will interact with other developers to build and improve the service. You will prioritize your activities to support product development, solve problems and blockers, and focus on the actions that are most impactful for program success. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years experience with modern C++ or Rust in systems or embedded contexts
