Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as a professional in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) at Texas Southern University, located in Houston, TX. The individual will develop and deliver engaging UAS-related courses, engage in innovative research opportunities, and support the development of UAS policies and programs. Responsibilities include collaborating with other faculty members to design curriculum, mentoring students, managing UAS laboratory equipment, and contributing to academic publications. The position entails overseeing the application and integration of UAS technologies across various disciplines.

Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of Unmanned Aerial Systems, operation, design, development, and current trends in UAS technology
  • Strong background in research, data analysis, and conducting experiments
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring, and academic program development
  • Proficiency with UAS-related software and technology tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
  • Advanced degree in a related field, such as Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or related discipline
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or ability to acquire certification
  • Experience in the higher education sector and working within a diverse academic community preferred
