Job Description

Your Mission

Join LEAP’s mission to build the most accessible path to space. As a Summer Intern you’ll be in the trenches with the team, helping design, assemble, test, sell and fly rocket systems. We’re looking for driven generalists who thrive on variety, learn fast, and want to be deeply involved in building a space launch system from the ground up.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Design, Build, Repeat – Help design mechanical parts, wire harnesses, test stands, hardware
  • Test Like It Flies – Participate in everything from bench-level checks to full system hot fires
  • Get Scrappy – Troubleshoot issues, rig up fast solutions, and document as you go.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Exposure – Work across avionics, propulsion, structures, software, and integration depending on project needs and your skills
  • Contribute to Flight – Your work will directly support our mission

What You Bring to the Team

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a BS/MS program in engineering, physics, or a related technical field or have a focus on business development/entrepreneurship
  • A “get it done” attitude—you're excited to pick up a wrench, soldering iron, or Python script to solve a problem
  • Hands-on experience through personal projects, clubs (rocketry, robotics, Baja), or internships
  • Willingness to try new things, take ownership, and ask for help when needed
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-first environment

Bonus Points

  • You've built something that flies, launches, or solves a gnarly hardware problem
  • Experience with CAD, PCB design, embedded systems, or hands-on fabrication
  • Comfort around tools, test setups, electronics labs, or field operations
  • Participation in a rocketry or aerospace competition team

Internship Details

  • Duration: 10–12 weeks during Summer 2025
  • Location: On-site in Colorado (some hybrid flexibility possible)
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience
  • Housing Support: Available for qualified out-of-state interns
  • Perks: Real flight hardware experience, strong mentorship, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a mission to space

About LEAP

LEAP is building a new class of low-cost, rapidly deployable orbital launch vehicles. Backed by top venture investors, we’re a fast-moving, high-accountability team on a mission to transform space access. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll get your hands dirty and make something real fly—we want to meet you.
