Autodesk Inventor/SDS Designer – Substation Industry

6 Month Contract to Hire

Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Autodesk Inventor Designer with 3–5 years of experience , preferably including Substation Design Suite (SDS) , to join our substation design team. The ideal candidate can support drafting and design tasks independently and has direct experience in the substation industry . This role offers hybrid or flexible work options after the first 90 days, depending on performance and project needs.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and SDS.
• Support substation design projects with accurate and timely drafting deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers and other design staff to meet project requirements.
• Assist in maintaining drawing standards and project documentation.
• Contribute to process improvement and support design automation tools.

Required

• 3–5 years of experience using Autodesk Inventor .
• Direct experience in the substation industry is required .
• Experience with Substation Design Suite (SDS) is preferred; training can be provided for candidates with substation experience.
• Strong understanding of drafting standards and design practices in utility substation projects.
• Must be located within 50 miles of an office location.
• Eligible for hybrid/flexible work options after 90 days, based on manager approval and job performance.

Note: Candidates with Inventor experience only and no substation industry experience will not be considered.
