POSITION OVERVIEW:

Assists the ESS Compliance Coordinator, ensuring all Special Education files are in compliance. Tracking and maintaining all Special Education students’ enrollments for the current school year at all campuses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages original special education & 504 files for all campuses.
  • Track and update the appropriate parties regarding due dates.
  • Create and manage charts, documents, and reports as needed.
  • Assist Compliance Coordinator and Director with data collection activities.
  • Receive and processes all invoices and requisitions for contracted services, department supplies, and instructional materials.
  • Receives and processes any/all purchases the ESS Department makes.
  • Manages reports within e-IEP PRO.
  • Attend department meetings and trainings to record minutes, as needed.
  • Processes enrollments from all school campuses and requests of special education and 504 records from previous schools.
  • Provides records for all record requests for special education and 504 records received by the school in a timely manner.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned by the ESS Compliance Coordinator.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Education, Licensure, or Certification:

  • Associate’s Degree preferred (not required).
  • IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Work Experience or Related Experience:

  • Two or more years of experience in a school environment.
  • Two or more years of experience in a customer service related field.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with e-IEP PRO and PowerSchool preferred.
  • Experience in providing customer service support.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of Legacy policy and procedures.
  • Proficiency in the English Language.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Personable.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Able to embrace Vertex’s mission, vision, and values.

BACKGROUND CHECKS:

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.

PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
  • This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
  • Local and in-state travel required.
