Job Description

Summary:

K2 Services is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies, along with proficiency in Cisco or Arista switches, to lead and enhance our network infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex networks while ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive initiatives to optimize network architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of a robust and scalable network infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
• Configure and manage firewalls using Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies to ensure the highest level of security.
• Design and implement complex routing and switching solutions using Cisco or Arista switches.
• Acts as the liaison and subject matter expert between the architecture, security, and engineering teams to integrate technical solutions to existing multifaceted, complex, customer facing production environments.
• Responsible for change management procedures and detailed ownership, planning, and execution of highly complex, secure, high risk, multifaceted changes.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams and individuals as appropriate.
• Acts as one of the top-level escalation points for all networks and related technical designs.
• Respond, analyze, and follow up on outstanding network issues at all levels; ensure timely problem resolution.
• Strive to improve communications and teamwork across organizations.
• Other key functions include carrier management, incident management, problem management, capacity management, service acceptance, event management, performance management, and standards compliance, with a focus on service restoration, sustainability, and proactive service improvement.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years' experience in a large multi-platform environment or equivalent technical experience
• Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer with expertise in Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco or Arista switches.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, security, and infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet products.
• Advanced proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco or Arista switches.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Expert (PCNSE), Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE), and Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical trouble shooting skills with extensive work experience; experience in providing situational analysis for networking telecommunications.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Excellent customer orientation, support, and interfacing experience with ability to persuade, convince, or influence others to take appropriate action.
• Ability to lead and impact others at all levels of the organization.
• Proven success in dealing with concurrent problems and issues effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
• Advanced understanding of business strategy as it relates to network environment.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with virtualization technologies.
2. Familiarity with cloud networking solutions.
3. Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts.
4. Scripting or automation skills for network-related tasks.
