About Hornet

Top-notch, real-estate lending and investment firm that prides itself on transparency, creativity, and technology. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a sharp, organized, and proactive Real Estate Paralegal to be the legal compass guiding our property transactions, document generation and review, litigation prep, and compliance efforts.

Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It):

  1. Decode the Legal Matrix : Review operating agreements and corporate docs to determine who can sign what, when, and how.
  2. Draft with Precision : Maintain and create affidavits, loan docs, and other legal templates with clarity and confidence.
  3. Master of Dates & Requirements : Build and maintain systems to track key dates, obligations, and accountability across all legal agreements.
  4. Agreement Whisperer : Analyze purchase and sale agreements, lienholder consents, intercreditor agreements, and more to ensure lender and collateral protections.
  5. Code Keeper : Stay current on Texas Property and Finance Codes, UCC filings, and case law updates. You’ll be our go-to for interpreting legalese.
  6. Legal Liaison : Often we'll need to consult outside counsel. You know who to call and what to ask.
  7. Zoning & Entitlement Sleuth : Help assess floodplain jurisdiction, zoning rules, and other entitlement traps throughout Texas to guide what can be built and where.
  8. Out-of-State Explorer : Occasionally assist with out-of-state matters, including finding local counsel and researching foreclosure timelines.
  9. Legal Educator : Create frameworks and training for internal team members to become second-eyes reviewers.
  10. Title & Survey Detective : Dive into title and survey reviews to support the lending team and REO analysis.
  11. Collaborator Extraordinaire : Work closely with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to keep everything legally sound and strategically aligned.

What You Bring to the Table:

  1. 5+ years of experience in real estate law, title, or transactions in Texas
  2. Paralegal certification or equivalent hands-on legal document experience
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel (bonus points for template wizardry)
  4. Exceptional organizational skills—think “organize the chaos”
  5. Ability to self-direct, build systems, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  6. Strong communication skills and a knack for translating legal jargon into actionable insights

Why You’ll Love It Here:

  1. You’ll be a cornerstone of our legal operations, not just a cog in the machine.
  2. You’ll help shape processes and infrastructure from the ground up.
  3. Your insights will directly influence how we manage legal risk and grow our business.
  4. Your voice matters—we value collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning.

Want to help us build smarter, safer, and more strategic real estate deals? Apply now and let’s make legal magic happen.
