Job Title: Analyst, R&D Technical Writing

📍 Location: Fremont, CA

📅 Contract Duration: 6 months

💵 Pay Rate: $39–$43 per hour (W2)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled R&D Technical Writing Analyst to support labeling and documentation initiatives within a Sustaining R&D environment for a global leader in the medical device industry. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating regulatory-compliant, end-user product labeling and documentation that supports both new product development and design changes . You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to process improvements, audit readiness, and compliance efforts .

This is a technical writing and quality documentation role , ideal for someone with experience in medical devices or regulated industries who is detail-oriented and highly organized.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise, and manage regulatory-compliant product labeling, SOPs, technical literature, and engineering documentation.
  • Research product features, test methods, and technologies to create clear, accurate content for end users.
  • Lead or support projects related to recertification, compliance, and process improvements (CAPAs, NCs).
  • Participate in audits by preparing relevant documentation and providing subject matter support.
  • Maintain quality documentation systems by updating SOPs, work instructions, forms, and templates.
  • Use tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and database-driven labeling systems to develop visual and written content.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to drive alignment, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and support a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Graphics, English, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 2–4 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in medical devices, healthcare, or regulated industries.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, FrameMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Hands-on experience with labeling systems such as Prisym ID, Loftware, Bartender, or NiceLabel.
  • Familiarity with website content design, structure, and usability testing is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, and provide regular project updates.
