Manager, Operational Technology & Controls Engineering

Overview

We are seeking a Manager-level professional with a strong foundation in Controls Engineering and Operational Technology (OT) who can view industrial processes holistically and partner closely with Operations. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, operations, and leadership, providing guidance on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and project execution.

This position does not require coding and does not require a deep cybersecurity background—cyber concepts can be learned on the job. The ideal candidate brings strong operational judgment, leadership capability, and the ability to manage projects and assess risk in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor and liaison to Operations, counseling teams on operational risks and mitigation strategies
• Provide managerial oversight for projects related to controls engineering and operational technology
• Lead and support project management activities, including planning, timelines, and cross-functional coordination
• Conduct risk assessments related to operational processes, systems, and controls
• Evaluate operational workflows end-to-end, ensuring systems and processes function cohesively
• Partner with engineering, operations, and leadership to drive continuous improvement and risk reduction
• Support the implementation of best practices related to OT governance and system reliability
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in Controls Engineering, Operational Technology, or related industrial/engineering environments
• Strong project management experience, ideally in complex or regulated operational settings
• Demonstrated ability to perform risk assessments and recommend practical mitigation strategies
• Broad understanding of industrial or operational processes from a holistic, systems-level perspective
• Proven ability to operate at a managerial or senior leadership level
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• No coding experience required
