Hugo’s Family Marketplace has immediate opportunities for Full Time and Part Time #PharmacyTechs, or Pharmacy Tech trainees/apprentices at our Fosston location.

Whether you are new to working in pharmacies or are an experienced Pharmacy Technician Apply Now! Hugo's will train you to use your skills and talents to serve and care for our patients and customers. The courses, learning activities, and resources provided to you in our pharmacy technician training program are designed to give you foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences you need to prepare to become a certified pharmacy technician.

Minimum Qualifications to enter the Trainee Program:

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Must have a High School Diploma.
• Must possess computer skills

Overview of how the Pharmacy Technician Trainee Program works:

• If accepted into the program you would get acquainted with the pharmacy by working as a pharmacy clerk for a month or two. Then, if you still had an interest and are absolutely certain that you want to be a pharmacy technician as a career choice, we would then...
• Get you licensed with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician in training.
• We would enroll you and pay for your tuition to Pharmacy Tech University.
• Pharmacy Tech University consists of several online courses, that trains in certain drug categories, the laws pertaining to pharmacy, and other areas.
• Minnesota gives you one year to finish the program, and most finish it well before that.
• Once finished with the program, you are eligible to take the national PTCE exam and become a national recognized certified pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and employees.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb, and squat frequently.
• Ability to type and operate a computer.
• Ability to speak on the telephone.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Ability to read, write clearly, speak clearly, and understand English.

Pay range and compensation package

Starting hourly pay rate is based on training and experience. Pharmacy technician Trainees can expect to start at $18-$19 per hour. When training is completed, and your Minnesota Pharmacy Technician license is obtained the hourly rate is $20-$21.00 per hour. When you become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB), you can expect $22.00-$24.00 per hour, wages can go up from there depending upon obtaining more certifications, such as immunization certification, and years' experience.
