Opportunity Overview

Reporting directly to the Lab Director, the Molecular Technologist will work closely with other team members in performing all daily workflow activities.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables

• Perform DNA and RNA extractions for molecular assays on PCR instruments.
• Identify and resolve potential workflow issues.
• Document all activities relative to QC and maintenance and calibration of instruments.
• Identify potential problems to prevent erroneous test performance and results.
• Document any corrective actions taken and escalate when necessary.
• Inventory management
• Comply with all lab policies and quality guidelines.
• Strictly follow all lab procedures for specimen handling and processing.
• Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related area
• A focus on clinical experience rather than research experience.
• Experience with QuantStudio a plus
• ASCP certification preferred
