  • Collaborate with other team members on planning and implementing events and activities for major donors/prospects.
  • Develop professional partnerships for sponsorship and giving opportunities.

Portfolio Management:

  • Utilize the donor database (Raiser’s Edge) for research, planning, preparation, and follow-up with prospects and donors.
  • Set and maintain contact and fundraising goals, reviewed and approved by the Director of Development.
  • Maintain an organized calendar of relationship-building activities.

Expectations:

  • Clearly communicate the missions and visions of BRIGHT-FM and RVR, and the various ways donors can contribute.
  • Understand the ethics and biblical basis of fundraising.
  • Spend time building genuine relationships to invite specific financial participation in PJM.

Activity Breakdown:

  • Relationship-building through research, identification, planning, personal visits, follow-up, and gift solicitation.
  • Attend PJM fundraisers and appropriate events.
  • Participate in weekly Development Team check-in meetings and regular meetings with the Relationship Management Team.

General Qualifications:

  • Agreement with the PJM Statement of Faith.
  • At least 3 years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, development/advancement, or relationship-based sales.
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or NXT, or a related contact database.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy, genuine care, and sensitivity to donors, with the ability to pray with people meaningfully.
  • Attention to detail in relationships, communication, and record-keeping.
  • Experienced in engaging with a diverse range of constituents.
  • Ability to independently manage a donor/prospect portfolio and collaborate with a team.
  • Ability to raise principal gifts preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Engage in meaningful conversations for extended periods.
  • Use a computer and make phone calls for extended periods.
  • Frequently drive to meetings, appointments, or events.
  • Participate in event setup, production, and teardown.
