HSAGP (Hyundai-SK America Green power) Energy LLC. is Hyundai Motor Group and SK On' s joint venture company to produce batteries for electric vehicle batteries. The joint venture plans to invest $5 billion to build an EV battery cell plant in Bartow County, Georgia. Hyundai Motor Group and SK On will each hold a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. The new plant created by the two companies is expected to start manufacturing battery cells in the first half of 2026 with an annual production capacity of 35 GWh, enough to support the production of 300,000 EVs a year. The future Bartow County plant in northwest Georgia is strategically located near Hyundai Motor Group’s existing and planned U.S. facilities. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnostics
- Identifying and diagnosing problems with machinery and equipment
- Inventory machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished
- Become familiar and efficient with all phases of the computer system required for managing spare parts
Maintenance Activities
- Performing routine maintenance to precent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
- Work Preventive Maintenance daily
- Work the Planned & Quality Maintenance periodically
- Keep and organize your maintenance equipment
Troubleshooting
- Identifying the root cause of malfunctions and finding solutions
- Use skills and experience to fix mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues
- Identify potential problems before they escalate into major problems
Repair
- Making necessary repairs, including replacing parts and performing basic maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with other departments, co-workers and contractors to ensure smooth operations
- Works both alone and with depending on related assignments
- Responding to emergency maintenance issues and breakdowns to minimize downtime
Record Keeping
- Maintaining records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions
- Check and report with working items at W/O (Work Order Sheet using a computer or PDA) in detail
- Maintains accurate histories, files and keeps applicable maintenance records
- Making Maintenance records improve your skills and experiences
Support Process Engineering and Production Team
- Line change-over/verification. Lead line changeovers, verify proper function and quality is met before releasing the line for full production
- Support the development of Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify critical risks in the production processes with the Process Engineers
- Report incidents or malfunctions of equipment and inquire maintenance according to the trouble correspondence manual
- Become familiar with production processes, equipment, and spare parts
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs as needed
Work Environment/Safety Management
- Monitor and support production environment improvement on light of 3R (Right material, Right quantity, Right position) and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
- Ensure safety management by fostering a culture of safety awareness, conducting regular training, and adhering to established safety protocols. Actively monitor workplace conditions, identify potential hazards, and promptly implement corrective actions to maintain a secure environment for all shift members.
- Frequently work around machinery. Occasionally exposed to chemicals, noises, grease and oil
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
- CMRT Program Certificate preferred; The Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)
- Advanced knowledge of operational tools and procedures obtained through work experience
- Microsoft Office proficiency (especially Excel)
- Night shift availability preferred but not required, unless specified during the interview
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, especially in automotive, electrical component, and/or chemical manufacturing preferred
- Experience with LEAN, SPC, Six Sigma programs preferred
- Experience with MES, G-EMS preferred
- Measure the dimensions, thickness, etc with measurement tools
Physical Requirements:
- In the office: Must wear the company-provided uniform
- In the production site: Must wear the company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, safety helmet (hard hat), safety glasses/safety goggles, portable gas measuring device
- In the A/C tower: Must wear dust-proof mask
- When exposed to NMP, hot oil: Additionally wear gas mask, dust-proof mask, chemical resistant clothing
Work Environment:
- Usual office environment, production and construction sites
- Risk of noise: Above 90db in compressor room, high temperatures, and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals
- Clean and dry room environment
- Wear PPE is required and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and a respirator.
