Melzer’s Fuel is a 50 year old family owned business with operational headquarters located in Erie PA. Melzer’s fleet of over 40 vehicles delivers to customers in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. Our team of over 75 employees are focused on the safe and efficient delivery of power fuels across our territories.
As the Lead Heavy Truck Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. You’ll also serve as a hands-on supervisor, guiding a team of mechanics and ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Shift: Training period (three months) will be 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM unless otherwise specified. Primarily a Monday through Friday schedule (perhaps a rare Saturday but not common) with a start time between 6am or 6:30am. Anticipate an 8 to 10 hour day.

\Melzer’s Fuel Service Inc. was started in 1977 by Dick Melzer and his wife Adele. Prior to entering business for himself, Dick worked for SOHIO beginning his petroleum career in 1952 delivering fuel and heating oil. In 1977, Dick was given the opportunity to become an independent contractor for SOHIO delivering fuel products to farms and home heating accounts in the Chardon, Ohio area. This was the beginning of Melzer’s Fuel Service and Dick and Adele never looked back as they began building their business.
As the business and reputation of Melzer’s Fuel Service grew into a well respected and extremely reliable fuel supplier in NE Ohio, Dick’s sons Rick and Andy began there careers in the business in the 1990’s and continued to enhance the growth and reputation of Melzer’s Fuels. Rick and Andy continued to grow the business and expand into additional markets and extended the market coverage into a large part of Ohio and bordering states. Upon Dick’s passing in 1999, Rick became President and after Andy’s untimely death in 2015, Rick, with the help of his dedicated employees, the establishment of aggressive growth goals, and his strong entrepreneurial spirit continued to grow the business and expand into a multistate supplier of fuels.
