Job Description

Land Morphology is a design-driven, midsized landscape architecture firm based in Seattle, celebrated for crafting distinctive and meticulously detailed landscapes. The studio is widely recognized for its design of high-end residential estates and gardens, with a strong emphasis on exceptional planting design.

The firm’s portfolio spans private estates and public spaces, reflecting a deep commitment to design excellence and horticultural artistry. Signature projects include the Leach Botanical Garden in Portland and The Village Green at University Village in Seattle. The firm contributed to the planting design for the transformative redevelopment of the Seattle Waterfront in collaboration with Field Operations. Additional highlights include the celebrated Chihuly Garden and Glass at the Seattle Center and the Castle Gardens at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens in Kentucky.

Projects span eight states, supported by a studio culture that values design excellence, technical precision, and creative innovation. The team operates in a highly collaborative environment where ideas are explored, expectations are elevated, and follow-through is fundamental.

Land Morphology is seeking a mid-level Landscape Designer or Landscape Architect with four to seven years of professional experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about working collaboratively to create exceptional gardens that nurture life—spaces that are both artfully designed and ecologically meaningful.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

This position involves contributing to multiple projects of varying scales simultaneously, providing support to principals and project managers while collaborating closely with the broader design team. Candidates should demonstrate strong design and drafting abilities, with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities may include preparing permit submittals, developing schematic design and construction document packages, producing presentation graphics, assisting with project administration, and contributing to hand and digital sketching. A keen attention to detail is essential, as is a commitment to delivering a high level of service to clients.

· Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture (BSLA/BLA) required

· 4–7 years of relevant professional experience

· Proficient in developing construction details and technical drawings

· Familiarity with local codes and permitting requirements

· Strong critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail

· Excellent time management and organizational abilities

· Clear and effective communication skills—written, verbal, and graphic

· Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Land F/X, with a solid understanding of documentation standards

· Proficient in SketchUp or Rhino and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

· Experience with Revit is a plus

· Experience with Enscape, and/or Lumion along with Grasshopper is considered an asset.

Benefits

Land Morphology offers a flexible hybrid work schedule—three days in our vibrant, design-focused Belltown studio and two remote days. The position requires residency within a commutable distance to the Seattle metro area.

This is a full-time role with a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office, 2 remote)
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • Employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays
  • Support for continuing education and professional development
