Job Description

The Health Services Coordinator is responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive health services program for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate health and dental services, including medical and dental exams, screenings, follow-ups, and nutrition assessments.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community health agencies to ensure access to needed services.
  • Oversee vision, hearing, speech, and medical screenings.
  • Monitor completion of required screenings and health data in compliance with licensing and state health regulations.
  • Provide guidance on reporting suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify and refer children with special needs for evaluation and follow-up.
  • Ensure emergency medical care, safety, and sanitation protocols are in place and followed.
  • Maintain individual health records and submit required reports.
  • Coordinate health and nutrition education for staff, children, and families.
  • Support mental health service coordination in collaboration with other staff.
  • Facilitate Health Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Order and maintain health and nutrition supplies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of health-related data, including immunizations and screenings.
  • Track in-kind contributions from health providers.
  • Supervise and support Health Services Specialists.
  • Develop health service plans and contribute to the program’s budget planning.
  • Maintain relationships with licensed health professionals for consultation or services as needed.
