The Kitchenworks is a renowned provider of design work, quality cabinetry, and fine appliances with a focus on delivering personalized service and attention to detail. With a reputation for excellence across the country, our flagship showrooms in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Fort Wayne, IN showcase our commitment to quality. Operating out of our BRAND NEW, industry-leading 4,000 sq. ft. showroom in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne, our firm is comprised of two dynamic divisions—custom cabinetry design and retail appliance sales—which collaborate to deliver high-end, full-service kitchen solutions.

As an authorized dealer for Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, Viking, Monogram, and over 20 other luxury appliance brands, we provide our clients with the finest selection of premium kitchen appliances. We are also the exclusive dealer for Dutch Made Cabinetry and Grabill Cabinetry in our respective markets, offering unparalleled cabinetry solutions to our discerning clientele.

Position Overview

As General Manager, you will oversee the strategic direction, financial performance, and daily operations with a primary focus on the Appliance Sales Division while providing support to the Cabinetry Design Division. This comprehensive leadership role combines high-level business management with specialized expertise in appliance sales and showroom operations. You will manage the overall P&L for both divisions, run the showroom, and plan and execute events to drive business growth.

The Cabinetry Design Division is led by a Lead Designer who handles most of the day-to-day operations of that division. Your role will be to facilitate the Lead Designer's needs, provide assistance as required, and support hiring efforts for the cabinetry team. However, your primary responsibilities will center on the Appliance Division, where you will focus on developing and maintaining relationships with builders and interior designers through active outreach, driving appliance sales, executing the continued build out of our appliance sales and logistics team and managing daily showroom operations.

Key Responsibilities

Appliance Sales Division

You will provide strategic leadership to the Appliance division, fostering a high-performance culture that drives sales and customer satisfaction. A significant portion of your role will initially involve quoting and selling appliance packages specifically for builders, designers, and retail clientele.

You will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with local builders and interior designers through active outreach, creating long-term partnerships that drive business growth. This builder and designer outreach is a critical priority for our business strategy and expansion plans.

You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of high-end appliances, industry trends, and competitive positioning to ensure our offerings remain at the forefront of the market. As we continue to grow, you will manage the hiring and training processes for additional sales and logistics staff for the Appliance Division, ensuring we maintain our high standards of excellence.

Financial & Operational Management

You will have primary responsibility for managing the P&L for both divisions, developing and managing the annual budget, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency while setting and tracking sales goals. This includes creating and implementing sales plans to meet and exceed budgets through strategic promotions, special events, and customer incentives. Regular performance reviews will allow you to adjust strategies as needed to ensure financial targets are met in our competitive market.

The optimization of showroom operations, inventory management, and overall workflow will be under your purview, with a focus on enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.

Showroom Management & Event Planning

One aspect of your role will be managing the day-to-day operations of our 4,000 sq. ft. showroom in downtown Fort Wayne. This includes ensuring the showroom is well-maintained, professionally presented, and effectively showcases our product offerings. You will be responsible for planning and executing events such as product demonstrations, designer showcases, and client appreciation gatherings that drive foot traffic and generate sales opportunities.

Marketing & Business Development

You will head the development and execution of our marketing plan with a heavy emphasis on social media, leveraging platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to promote products, engage with potential customers, and monitor analytics to optimize campaign performance. This digital focus is essential for reaching our target market and showcasing our premium offerings.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and industry partners will be crucial to your success. You will develop and execute strategies to grow appliance sales, ensuring outstanding customer service and maintaining the company's stellar reputation in the industry.

Cabinetry Division Support

While your primary focus will be on the Appliance Division, you will provide support to the Lead Designer who oversees our Cabinetry Design side. This includes assisting with complex projects when required, and supporting hiring efforts for the cabinetry team. You will collaborate with the Lead Designer to ensure alignment between both divisions and a seamless experience for clients utilizing both our cabinetry and appliance services.

Operational Logistics

You will design an effective logistics support structure for the business, that will eventually take over the handling of pre-site inspections to ensure readiness for installations, schedule deliveries, and installation partners. This operational oversight ensures smooth execution, meeting customer expectations on time and maintaining our reputation for service excellence.
