Job Description

The Fleet Manager will report directly to the Regional Service Manager and will be responsible for the management and coordination of maintenance for a fleet of commercial passenger vehicles. The Fleet Manager will own the scheduling and review of all vehicle maintenance with in-house and 3rd party maintenance providers, with reviewing all repair details and costs. Included with the maintenance will be control of roadside response efforts and overseeing of all regulatory compliance inspections of the organizations fleet.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Fleet Management
  • Support new program/vehicle implementations for all fleet/vehicle related responsibilities.
  • Manage, Audit, & Support all local, state, and federal compliance regulations, including compliance inspections.
  • Assist Operations with reviewing incident estimates for cost efficiencies and approve prior to completing repairs, including reporting all costs for incident tracking process.
  • Vehicle Maintenance
  • Schedule/oversee all fleet maintenance with appropriate vendor and coordinate vehicle movements with operations/dispatch staff for a fleet of 300+ vehicles.
  • Review/process all DVIR defects and coordinate vehicles in for repairs, including managing any roadside assistance/mechanic dispatching for emergency repairs.
  • Generate/obtain weekly reports for maintenance and warranty status updates.
  • Support the warranty claim process to ensure claims are processed quickly and accurately.
  • Monitor all out-of-service vehicles for prompt repair and daily status update notifications.
  • Review maintenance repair order details on a weekly basis and assign POs to approved repairs.
  • Fleet maintenance invoice review & approval processing
  • Facilities Management
  • Track vehicles garage/parking locations and capacity of all contracted parking locations
  • Assist Operations in inspecting parking facilities for compliance, safety, and security.

Skills Required And Physical Demands

  • Microsoft Office with robust experience in Excel
  • Strong electronic filing, documentation tracking and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and consistent formatting.
  • Self-Motivated and driven problem solver
  • Multiple years’ experience in transportation, encourage passenger transportation history
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Work experience w/ mechanical background and aptitude

Education And Qualifications

  • Hard requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience with fleet maintenance supervision and administration.
  • Preferred requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Logistics, and/or Transportation.
