Job Summary

SGH is looking for a Financial Analyst Intern for Summer 2025 to assist in investment performance analysis, company KPI review, and the evaluation of new investment opportunities.

This is an in-person, paid position based in Birmingham, MI. Intern should be undergraduate students pursuing degrees in Finance, Accounting, or a related business discipline.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, to assess the company’s financial health and performance.
• Maintain internal databases; gather and maintain company and performance data across multiple sources and databases.
• Prepare and present clear, concise, and insightful financial reports for Management and Senior Operational roles highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
• Assist in the preparation of presentations for Executive Management.
• Play a key role in analysis of investment opportunities and capital expenditures utilizing Net Present Value, Discounted Cash Flow, Internal Rate of Return and distribution waterfall structures.
• Build out in-depth financial and market analysis about industries, companies and assets.

Requirements:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
• PowerBI and database management experience a plus.
• Ability to efficiently develop thorough analyses from the ground up and effectively communicate reasonable, accurate and defendable conclusions.
• Excellent communication skills, collaborative and thrives in a high-energy, high impact environment
