Job Title: Electrical Designer

Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our team. Reporting to a Senior Electrical Designer or Engineer, this role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing electrical designs and drawings for various projects. The Electrical Designer will provide design support for field operations with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and client requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, industry knowledge, and a client-focused approach to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems and maintain accurate company drawings.
  • Provide drawing and design support for field operations with minimal direction.
  • Ensure all permits, drawings, and design documents are properly prepared, updated, and submitted for projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and maintain strong professional relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of codes, regulations, trade standards, and construction practices in design work.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve design conflicts and ensure smooth execution.
  • Utilize CAD software and other tools to create, modify, and maintain technical drawings.
  • Support IT network and infrastructure-related aspects of projects when required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a designer, including at least 2 years as a lead designer in commercial electrical work.
  • Strong understanding of all construction disciplines and general building practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, design standards, and installation practices.
  • Proven ability in trade coordination and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.
  • Comfortable working with IT networks, business applications, and modern office technologies.

Education

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) or equivalent work experience.
