Job Description

LHH is seeking a Dispatcher for a fantastic company in Sylacauga, AL. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all logistics-related matters at the plant. This role requires constant coordination with internal teams, carriers, and the corporate office to ensure timely and accurate shipment of orders.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Carrier Coordination

• Serve as the plant’s main logistics contact
• Monitor orders to ensure on-time shipment to customers
• Notify carriers when orders are ready
• Schedule dock appointments
• Follow up on missed loads
• Communicate driver hour limitations
• Process detention and TONU approval requests
• Source alternate carriers as needed
• Request LTL quotes
• Ensure carrier compliance with PPE requirements

Operations Support

• Request and track updates on product availability
• Address product quality issues and returns
• Assist the shipping office with truck monitoring to help avoid detention

Customer Service & Sales Support

• Communicate carrier issues (late arrivals, driver hours, delivery constraints)
• Request customer site information (hours of operation, delivery procedures)
• Manage issues related to customers unable to accept product (layovers, returns, redeliveries)

Corporate Office Coordination

• Update orders in the ERP system with corrected carrier information and rates
• Work with Purchasing on rate change requests
• Review detention invoices and provide supporting details for approval or denial

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Comfortable challenging information and pushing back when necessary

Preferred Software Experience

• TMX – Princeton (Truck Dispatch), Intellitrans (Rail), SAP S/4HANA (ERP), Google Suite (Email, Spreadsheets, Documents)

Job Type

• Plant operates 24/7
• In-Office, Monday–Friday, with weekend on-call rotation
• Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break
