Job Description

Administrative Support Specialist – IT Department (Higher Education)

📍 Location: On-site

Contract Duration: 6–7 Months

🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join the IT Department of a respected Higher Education institution . This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys supporting operational efficiency through strong administrative practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update user resource pages, upgrade calendars, and training materials
  • Collaborate with IT staff, faculty, and other departments to gather and share information
  • Update service desk tickets and status reports to ensure accurate issue tracking
  • Create and maintain documentation from notes, videos, and vendor resources
  • Generate routine reports to monitor progress and inform stakeholders
  • Coordinate testing notes and distribute them to the appropriate team members
  • Assist with ticket triage by tracking assignments and gathering additional details from users (no technical skills required – full training provided)

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams
  • Experience in administrative support or service desk environments is a plus
